I have four of these, 2 at home and 2 at work. I grow flowers and veggies, so if your friend has a green thumb this would be an awesome gift.http://www.earthbox.com/
My SunOven is also a blast. It can get up to almost 400 degrees, and I’ve used mine to make cookies, muffins, hard cooked eggs, and a small chicken. Very fun.http://www.altestore.com/store/Energy-Ef…

This website has a cool idea if you’re in charge of the party:http://searchwarp.com/swa147798.htm
Beyond that, I would check around Etsy.com and find some locally made jewelry. Some of the sellers on Etsy are very environmentally conscious, and there is a search option that will allow you to look only for sellers in your area so shipping won’t be such a problem.
The idea of using a reusable bag instead of a gift bag is good…but be forewarned, I’ve had people ask if I wanted my grocery sack back after the party before. If you’re dealing with someone who is actually into living green this won’t be a problem, but some people are all talk.

an idea maybe jewlery,a dress or an organic purse or bag. go to a store where they sell organic items you will eventually find something there. Or you could make the gift which is what i do out of old clothing.

One thing you could do is put your gifts in a nicely decorated reusable bag. They’ll have the bag for when they go out shopping, and you won’t be waisting a bag when you give them their present.
