We all knew that a little bit of sunlight is good for your health, but did you know that the sun’s rays are also healing in a visual sense? The absorption of the sun’s reflected light rays on your retina, (the sensory membrane lining the eye) is, all by itself, a powerful form of medicine. That’s why it is good to spend some time each day outside without wearing any eye protective cover like sunglasses. Sunglasses block off and distort the natural light your body needs to undergo full health.

Use These Saving Energy Tips And Put Money Back In Your Pocket

energy is not just what you paid out each month. It is the foundation of everything you do in your life. With the increasing cost of energy, it cannot be denied that we need to take important measures to limit our energy consumption. Saving energy becomes a must and a habit that everyone should adapt.

Almost half of your electric bill goes for your heating and cooling systems so here’s a good place to maximize your savings. Clean your air filters at least once a month. Clean baseboard heaters, radiators, and warm-air registers as often as necessary; make sure that they are working properly; and that they are not blocked by drapes, carpeting, and furniture, which of course are a fire hazard.

Set the thermostat as high as is comfortable when it is hot or as low as is comfortable when it is cold. Turn off exhaust fans (kitchen, bath, others) 20 minutes after cooking or bathing. Keeping them on for a long time affects the temperature of the room.

Use natural lights – working near the windows will prevent you from turning on the light and consuming energy. Utilize the power of the sun as much as possible. Switch off the lights every time you leave the room even if it is just of a minute.

Unplug unnecessary appliances like microwaves, television, stereos, computers, and VCRs if you are not using them. Also, unplug chargers and devices with bloc-shaped transformer on the plug. All of them consume energy when plugged in. Do not leave them on “stand-by” mode.

Look for Energy Star label when purchasing lighting product. Use task lighting instead of lights that cover the entire room. For example, use lamp shades when reading and not the lights for your room.

Washing your clothes in cold or warm water will reduce washer’s energy consumption by as much as 90%. Air drying eliminates the energy use for machine drying, better still, hang your clothes out side. Always do full loads whenever possible. If you are washing a small load, use appropriate water level and wash setting.

Maintain a right temperature for your freezer and refrigerator. Do not hold the refrigerator or freezer open. The energy consumption increases if the motor works endlessly just to maintain the temperature of the refrigerator and freezer. Check for leaks and cracks in the gasket. Make sure that your refrigerator is completely sealed to maintain the temperature inside.

Heat loss happens when your house is not properly sealed. Use sealants or weather-stripping on windows. Make sure that air cannot escape or enter in to the pipes, doors, walls, floors and ceilings. A properly insulated home saves as much as 10% in electric bill.

In a typical household monthly electric bill, 44% goes to the heating and cooling systems; 33% goes to lighting and other appliances; 14% goes to heating the water; and 9% goes to the refrigerator. Take note of this power distribution to know where exactly you can maximize your saving.

Don’t trust the hype about those energy drinks. It’s true, your body requires electrolytes, but it sure doesn’t need all those liquid sugars, chemical sweeteners and artificial colors added to many so called get-up-and-go drink products. As an alternative, try supercharging your mineral intake by eating more organic fruits and vegetables – they are naturally higher in both trace minerals and macro minerals. If you still need a mineral boost, try trace mineral supplements like… Trace Minerals Research Liqumins Power pak, Electrolyte, Stamina, Raspberry , 1 pak (Pack of 2)

Want to tame your appetite with a low-cal, low-fat, and highly nutritious veggie? Smack on jicama (pronounced HICK-a-ma). Jicama can remove the craving out of your appetite because it is jampacked full of fiber – a plant substance that helps you feel full longer. One medium-sized tuber has a whopping 32 grams of the stuff!

Jicama belongs to the legume or bean family (Fabaceae), a cousin of the sweet potato, this underground tuber comes in two types: agua (watery juice) and leche (milky juice). Just like the hot pretzels on the sidewalks of New York, jicama is a street food, sold with a squeeze of lime and a shake of fiery chili powder.

It is a favorite dietary essential in Latin America and are widely grown in Mexico and Central America. There are numerous names for Jicama including: the Mexican potato, Mexican yam bean, ahipa, saa got, Chinese turnip, lo bok, and the Chinese potato.
